Bright Ones

Fathers' Day wasn't much of a thing here in Liberia. At least for me.
What made my weekend was getting to spend quality time with my niece and nephew. We watched Coco the wonderful Disney movie about family, music, honoring your ancestors, and following your dreams. As they perfectly stated: "Aunty, the show was too fine and sorrowful." It's nice to have Disney teach us about life.
Fathers Day weekend this year reminded me of their father. The look of excitement on their faces when I video called him. The fact that he's away working to do something more for himself and for them. He's raised some pretty intelligent children and I look forward to getting to know them as they grow. When Osuman finishes with his Master's, one more Liberian family will shine a little brighter.
A Happy Fathers' Day 2018 indeed.
